Cation on the back of one of the photos reads, "Also known as 'THE BEARD' among his railfan friends due to something he sports on his face -- and the photo credits may read such if you are and I can survive the kidding of the teachers tomorrow. [illegible signature], Soldotna, Alaska. Oh yes -- photos date June 1969 on the Alaska RR at Portage, Alaska." I forgot to tell you that the link I sent was from a photo on a site that was partly dedicated to an gentleman named E.L. Moore who used to be an author for Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman in the 60's I think. Apparently he sent the photo or a drawing of the flat car with the cement mixer on it to see if one of the magazines would accept it for an article, but it was rejected. I found this on the Model Railrailroader Forum. -- Bob Garner
