WHAT A SHOCK! Circle K, right here in Wasilla!

Oh, I knew Circle K had come to Alaska. I have seen Circle K gas stations/convenience stores during my recent trips to Anchorage. I had read the story in the Anchorage Daily News about how Holiday had been bought out by Circle K, and I knew this was a Holiday station, but still - to see Circle K right here - it was a shock.

That’s how it is in Alaska. So many people come here to escape the crowded and over-developed Lower 48 and then do everything possible to bring the Lower 48 here.

You might notice the Union Pacific locomotive behind lead ARR Locomotive 4006 and think maybe UP is taking over ARR, but if I understand correctly, the UP locomotive is up here doing temporary duty on lease and will go back south.

This is not the photo I set out to take and did take last night. This is a secondary photo I took after I shot the one I intended to shoot, and then I pivoted Gepetto the DJI Air 3 on its axis to shoot this.

My primary photo from last night is better than this one. It’s a cover contender.

I will probably post it tomorrow, but I don’t want it to compete with a bunch of words. I want it to stand by itself. I do want to tell the story of what I went through to get it and the strange twist the ARR pulled on me that enabled me to do it.

I thought I would tell the story here, but it drives this post over the 2200 character limit. I try to keep all my posts within that limit.

I’ll figure out how, but I have other things I need to do for the rest of this day.
